Dr. Péter Nógrádi
Dr. Nógrádi is a veteran legal expert and community leader whose work bridges the Jewish, legal, and civic spheres in Hungary and abroad. Born to Holocaust survivor parents, he was raised in a traditional, observant Jewish household and completed his military service in Israel. He earned his Doctor of Law degree from Eötvös Loránd University and later conducted research at Tel Aviv University’s Cegla Institute for Comparative and Private International Law.
He is the founder of the Nógrádi Law Office in Budapest, where he has built a respected commercial law practice over the past three decades. Fluent in Hebrew, English, and Hungarian, he is widely recognized for his strategic legal thinking, effectiveness in dispute resolution, and commitment to causes rooted in Jewish values. He currently serves on the supervisory board of Keren Hayesod Hungary and represents a number of Hungarian and international foundations with Jewish and Israeli ties.
Beyond his legal work, Dr. Nógrádi plays an active role in Jewish communal life. He is a delegate of the Frankel Leó Street Synagogue to both the Budapest Jewish Community and the Federation of Hungarian Jewish Communities, where he was elected to the leadership in 2023 and later appointed Vice President. The mission of the foundation resonates deeply with his own values and life experience, grounded in a sense of responsibility to honor the past while helping build a resilient and engaged Jewish future.
