Feasibility Study for a New Jewish Summer Camp Initiated by Ronald S. Lauder

In the autumn of 2025, Ronald S. Lauder, President of the World Jewish Congress, expressed in Budapest the vision of establishing a new rural Jewish youth center in Hungary alongside the historic Szarvas camp. The Federation of Jewish Communities in Hungary (MAZSIHISZ), as the country’s largest Jewish denomination, is honored to participate in this initiative.

This project seeks to prepare a comprehensive feasibility study that will lay the strategic foundation for a new Jewish summer camp of national importance. The proposed center would serve as a modern rural hub for Jewish tradition, religious life, arts, and culture, responding to growing demand and expanding access to meaningful Jewish communal experiences for children.

Developing this study is the essential first step toward transforming this vision into a sustainable reality for future generations. Your support will ensure that the initiative begins on a professionally grounded and carefully planned basis, strengthening the long-term vitality of Jewish life in Hungary.
